Legacy High School’s Jeffery Carter and Mansfield High School’s Molly Phillips have been recognized as some of the best players in the nation.
Carter, a football cornerback, was named an All-American Under Armour athlete. According to ESPN, Carter is nationally ranked fourth in his position and 37th overall in football.
The Texas A&M University commit will be part of the top 100 football players in the nation to compete at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 3. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. CST.
Phillips, a volleyball middle-blocker, was one of only 24 Texas players to be selected as an Under Armour All-American. She made the second team out of a record 793 nominations.
The University of Texas at Austin commit was also named to the 2018 PrepVolleyball All-America First Team and played on the USA U20 Women's National Team in 2018.
